Treads that are freely supported from the outer side, relying solely on the central core of the staircase, were exactly what was aimed for in the design of the Light model. This sense of freedom was the desired outcome. The staircase can stand on its own with the simplicity and stability provided by the 50mm treads and its robust core.

The handrail and balustrade present a minimalist proposal in wood, metal, or a combination of both. However, they could also be unnecessary if the staircase is placed inside a “barrel.”

• Central column made of wood
• Treads with a thickness of 50mm that do not require additional support from risers between the treads
• Uprights with a cross-section of 70x50mm
• Wooden steps with a thickness of 17mm. The number and width of the steps depend on the desired aesthetic.
